12 Brand New Couple Challenges You Have to See

Whether you’re big into social media or not, one things still remains true—doing couples challenges together with your significant other is fun. Whether they’re quirky or expertly designed to deepen your connection, couples challenges are a great way to push yourselves in a way that (most of the time) is healthy.

If you’ve been looking for new couple challenges to try, you’ve come to the right place. We’re going to share some couple challenges that have been going on for a while and some that are brand new you can be on the leading edge of.

Without further ado, let’s get into the challenges.

Quick Disclaimer – Be safe, please. We are just sharing these couple challenges with you for entertainment value. Consider your local laws and safety before even thinking about doing any of these. Now that the lawyers are happy, let’s get into it!

1. The Drawing Each Other Challenge

This is a couples challenge that has been around for a little while but never gets old. It’s simple, but can be amazing or hilarious, all depending on your artistic abilities. You set a timer and you both attempt to draw or paint the other person. At the end of the allotted time, you reveal your works of art to each other.

If you’re a great artist, amazing. If you’re a terrible artist, also amazing (just a lot more hilarious like you’ll see in the clip below).

2. The Drive-Thru Seat Swap Challenge

While we aren’t much for pranks, we do love harmless pranks that are just funny. One of those that has turned into a couples challenge is the drive-thru seat swap challenge. In this one, you order fast food, pull up to the window, and pay, while your partner is hiding in the backseat.

Then, while the staff is going to get your food, you quickly switch seats so they’re confused when they come back and see a totally different person.

Pro tip, this won’t work with a place that is super-fast with your food like Chick Fil A because you wouldn’t have time to make the switch! Also, we’re hoping everyone doing this challenge remembers safety and to put the car in park before making the switch.

3. The Date Night Every Week for a Year Challenge

While the first two challenges for couples are fun ones, this is one that is not only fun but can REALLY help to build your relationship. It’s simple, too. Commit to doing a date night every single week for a whole year. That’s 52 date nights, and you can’t miss a single week.

If you want some help with ideas, check out the LoveTrack app! It’s a totally free date night planner with hundreds of preplanned and unique ideas that are amazing to help you nail this challenge.

4. The Pushup Kiss Challenge

This one is fairly new and didn’t get a ton of steam behind it (yet at least), but it’s still a fun one. Basically, one of you lays on the ground face up and the other is over them in the pushup position. Then, you see how many pushups you can do while getting a kiss every time you lower your body!

Simple, but has a healthy and romantic flare to it!

5. The Seat Setting Swap Challenge

This one always makes us laugh and doesn’t ever get old. Basically, you each take turns getting into the driver’s seat of your car but with the other person’s seat settings. If you are drastically different sizes, this gets hilarious fast.

Notice for safety (yes, we know we sound like your mom), the clip we shared, they are only driving out in a field somewhere and not around other people. You can also do this challenge without actually driving (which we recommend).

6. The Daily Couples Questions for 30 Days Challenge

Here’s another super cool couples challenge that will do wonders for your relationship (and give you content for 30 days if that’s your thing). For 30 days, you commit to answering daily couples questions. You can’t miss a day, and you have to commit to being honest and transparent with your answers.

If you want a good (and free) source of this, the LoveTrack app (the one we mentioned for the date night challenge) also offers daily couples questions that are perfect for this. Some are fun, some are quirky, and some are designed to go deeper. It gives you three questions per day, which is the perfect number to connect but not take too much time.

You can also extend this challenge to 90 days or even a year (or longer) if you want!

7. The Sock Removing Wrestling Challenge

This is a bit more of an active couples challenge, but one that can be fun (depending on your vibe). Each of you puts on socks and the goal is to be the first to take the other’s socks off before yours are both taken off.

It’s quirky, but looks like a lot of fun. Here’s a clip from TikTok of a couple completing the challenge.

8. The Rock, Paper, Scissor Eating Challenge

This one is a bit of a weird one for us, but if you like strange couple challenges, you’ll love it. Start by ordering some delicious food you’re both going to want to eat. Then, you play rock, paper, scissors. Whoever wins gets to start eating the food while the other person has to run down and tag a certain spot and then run back. Once they’re back, the eating stops, and you play rock, paper, scissors again!

Would we try this one? Probably not because we love to eat too much and it feels like you wouldn’t get to enjoy your food (or it might come up with running). But, we’re sharing it because people are doing it!

9. The Learn Something New Every Day for 30 Days Challenge

Here’s another one that’s fun and helps you to connect as a couple no matter how long you’ve been together (it’s actually harder the longer you’ve been together). For 30 days, you commit to learning something new about each other every day. If you share something the other person already knows, you have to share again! Keep doing this until you’ve both learned something new.

And if you want to save what you learned (or see ideas), the free LoveTrack app we’ve been sharing has a neat feature called Things to Remember where you can track over 80 unique things you should know about your partner like their go-to coffee order, what they’re allergic to, their families name, and so much more.

10. The Speaking One Word Story Challenge

This one actually has its roots in an old school improv game. Basically, turn on the camera and start filming yourselves telling a story. The catch? You can each only say one word at a time. It sounds silly, but it’s a lot of fun. Here’s an example clip of a couple doing the challenge on TikTok.

11. The Eat Everywhere You Agree Upon Challenge

This couples challenge tends to always have a heavily edited feel to it, but it’s interesting enough for us to share. Basically, you read off the name of a restaurant and you both answer at the same time if you like it or not. For every restaurant you both like, you go eat there.

If you want to do this in a day, stick to fast food spots (or food trucks) and only get one thing from each place so you have room to eat more!

12. The Human Seat Challenge

With this couples challenge, one partner uses their arms and body to become a human chair. The other partner sits in “the chair” and they pick them up. That’s it! That’s the whole challenge. Simple, but something we’re starting to see happen quite a bit more recently.

A Few Helpful Tips for Doing Couple Challenges

Lastly, we want to share a few tips if you do decide you want to do any of these (or other) couple challenges.

  • Safety first. – Just because other people are doing it does not mean its safe. Make your own decisions about safety and legality before you do any challenge.
  • You don’t have to post about them if you don’t want to. – Some couples like to use these challenges for content (and that’s okay). However, don’t feel like you can’t do something just because you don’t want to post it online.
  • You make the rules. – Yes, most couple challenges have “rules”, but guess what? There is no governing body overseeing the challenges. Feel free to adjust the “rules” however you want to make it work and more fun for you and your special someone.
  • You can make up your own challenges. – We share some of the most popular couple challenges here, but guess what? They all start somewhere. If you want to come up with your own challenge and hashtag it online, go for it!
