When planning a fun night out with someone special, the conversation often turns to cute date ideas (and rightfully so)! While all dates have an element of cute romance to them, there are some that truly go above and beyond. These are the date night ideas that will leave your friends saying, “OMG that is SO cute!” when you tell them about your plans.
Here, we’ll share 27 of our favorite cute date ideas. And if you ever want to see more cute date night ideas, make sure you check out the free LoveTrack date night planner app for couples. It has over 500 amazing date ideas fully planned out that will make sure you never have a boring date night again.
If you’re ready, let’s go ahead and look at our favorite cute date ideas.

1. A 90’s Romantic Comedy Movie Marathon
Since the idea of cute date ideas feels like it originally came from Hollywood, there’s probably no better way to celebrate and pay homage than with a romantic comedy movie marathon. While you can pick movies from any decade, we think that the romcoms from 90’s fit the cute date mold the best.
Here are a few titles to get you started:
- 10 Things I Hate About You (1999)
- Clueless (1995)
- Notting Hill (1999)
- My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997)
- She’s All That (1999)
- You’ve Got Mail (1998)
2. The Charity Lemonade Stand Date
This cute date idea blends multiple elements of cuteness together, all while giving back to the community. Remember those lemonade stands we made as kids? Well, you and your special someone will be setting up your own lemonade stand in the neighborhood.
Except this time, instead of trying to raise money for a new toy, you’ll be either giving away the lemonade completely free to be kind to your neighbors, or you’ll take donations for a charity of your choice.
We dare you to find one person who doesn’t think this is the cutest date on planet earth!
- If you need help planning this date, the LoveTrack app has some amazing tips on where to find supplies and how to share with people what you’re doing.
3. The Cute Christmas Anytime Date
As one of our favorite dates from the free LoveTrack app, the Cute Christmas Anytime Date is exactly what it sounds like. You’re celebrating Christmas…when it’s not December. You can go as simple as you’d like or as all out as you want.
Spoiler alert, the more all out you go with decorations, music, food, drinks, and outfits, the cuter this date gets.
You can also watch some Christmas romance movies to help drive the mood home even more! Here are a few of our favorites to get you started (or you can just watch basically anything from the Hallmark Channel).
- Love Actually (2003)
- While You Were Sleeping (1995)
- The Holiday (2006)
- The Knight Before Christmas (2019)
4. Any Picnic Checks the Cuteness Box
The more traditional a picnic feels, the more perfect it is for a cute date idea. Think things like wicker picnic baskets with red and white checkerboard cloths…and comfy blankets to sit on and freshly squeezed juices and charcuterie boards in a lush green field. Get the idea?
Your picnic can literally be anywhere and at anytime (sunrise, sunset, lunch, etc.). Just focus on making it more than just eating outside. By pulling in these classic elements, you up the cute factor on the date by 10x.
5. The Farmers Market Smoothie Date
Another one of our favorites from the LoveTrack app, the Farmers Market Smoothie Date is where the two of you go to a local farmers market and pick out fresh ingredients to make smoothies with. Then, you either head home to make the smoothies or use a travel blender to make them on the go (home is usually better unless you’re looking for a cute first date where you aren’t that comfortable yet).
6. Taking a Dance Class Together
Dance classes together might be a little closer to the romantic date night side of things, but we’d argue it’s still super cute and well worth putting on this list. All you have to do is search for couples dance classes in your area and sign up for a class! You can usually get a class for free or pay per class so you can try it out and see if you enjoy it.
Feel free to do any style, but some that we think are worth searching for are:
- Ballroom (this is an all-encompassing term of several styles)
- Salsa
- Swing
7. The Stargazing Date (with some planning)
There is not a lot cuter than looking up at the stars together for a date night. The key here, though, is you need to put some planning into this so it’s not “let’s just walk outside and look up.”
- Plan to have blankets and pillows to be comfortable.
- Find a great location without a lot of light.
- Pack a small cooler with snacks and drinks.
- Research to see if there are any meteor showers coming up.
8. Cloud Watching Date (also with some planning)
In case you’re looking for a cute date idea like stargazing but during the day, clouds are just as exciting to watch. Again, same rules apply that you need to make sure to put planning into this simple date so it feels more special.
A few things to remember:
- Wear sunscreen and sunglasses.
- Pack waters or sports drinks to stay hydrated.
- Bring snacks.
- If you want to jazz it up, try drawing the clouds you see or turning them into imaginative cartoons based on what they look like.
9. The Scrapbooking Date Night
If you’ve been together for a while, a scrapbooking date night is a great way to connect and build something that you can always reflect on for years to come. If you’ve never scrapbooked before, there is some planning that goes into making this date a successful one.
Again, the free LoveTrack app should be your first stop for this date night as it will walk you through everything you need to plan and what you might need for the date.
10. Going to a drive in movie
This is such an old-school classic throwback that immediately comes with cuteness. Just make sure you’re seeing a movie that is romantic or funny. Horror movies lose the charm here.
Strange tip – for some reason, drive in movie theaters do a pretty rough job of marketing their existence. Do some searching because you might be surprised to find there is one in your town or a neighboring town that you didn’t even know existed.

Want more cute date ideas? We’ve got two great options for you. Number one — seriously, go download the free LoveTrack app right now. It has hundreds and hundreds of date night ideas that are cute, romantic, fun, and more.
Number two — here’s even more ideas you can get creative with.
11. Create lover’s coupon books for each other.
Spend some time together crafting by making unique couples coupons for each other. Things like free hug, you pick the movie, do a chore you don’t like, etc. These can be as cute or practical as you’d like.
12. Read to each other at the local library.
Check out the local library and find some books (or even children’s books) to read to each other. We can hear you saying “awwww!” in your head right now!
13. Go for a midnight stroll.
This doesn’t actually have to be at midnight (we need sleep!) but a late-night walk holding hands is always great. Just makes sure you do it somewhere safe.
14. Fly a kite together.
There is something strangely cute and nostalgic about flying a kite together. Pair this with a picnic for a perfect day at the park.
15. Volunteer together.
We already shared our charity lemonade stand idea, but helping others doesn’t have to stop there. Find somewhere the two of you can volunteer together for a cute date idea that really helps impact your local community.
16. Watch the sunrise.
You’ll have to get up early for this one (which may be a cuteness deal breaker), but watching the sunrise together is a simple, free cute date idea. Technically, you could catch it on the other end of staying up all night (which in itself could be cute), but we love our sleep 🙂
17. Watch the sunset.
Guess what? The sun in both directions (up and down) can make for a really cute date. The one nice thing about the sunset is that most people are regularly awake for this, unlike with the sunrise.
18. Look at old photos together
Take some time before the date night to collect some of your favorite old photos of you. Then, on the date night, take turns showing them to each other and telling the stories behind them. We recommend taking turns (one-for-one) with the photos so it’s not just a presentation, but more of a cute date feel.
19. Set up camping in your backyard.
This can be as much camping or as much glamping as you want it to be. The idea, though, is to cuddle up in a tent and enjoy the outside without having to be in the middle of the woods. This cute date does take some planning and there are a lot of unique opportunities to make it super cute.
We highly recommend getting the free LoveTrack app because it will walk you through every element and option you want to consider.
20. Go for a bike ride.
There are a lot of cute movie scenes that show couples going for bike rides together. The Notebook…The Sound of Music…Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (seriously!). So, if it’s cute in the movies, we think it’s cute in real life and perfect for a fun date.
Keep in mind we’re talking about a leisurely ride, not a workout or an off-roading adventure.
21. Look for a movies in the park event.
When the weather is nice, many cities offer free movies in the park type events. This is where you can go watch usually a classic movie outside in a park or similar area. Just search for ‘movies in the park’ or ‘free outdoor movies’ and you’ll probably find something in your area.
22. Bake some yummy treats together.
It feels like 90% of romcoms involve at least one scene where the couple is baking together in their matching aprons. If there is something that screams cute date idea, it’s matching aprons. Also, baked treats are yummy, so there’s that.
23. Color!
In case you didn’t know, coloring is awesome, no matter how old you are. And if you’re looking for a cute date night idea, this is an easy, affordable, and wildly fun one.
24. Make pizza at home together.
Ordering pizza is fun, but there’s just a unique charm that comes with making it together at home with your special someone. And in case you’re worried, you can buy premade dough/crusts to make it super easy. If you want cooking help, check out the date on the LoveTrack app and we’ll walk you through it.
25. Watch planes take off at the airport.
While inside the airport can be stressful, outside can be a majestic opportunity to watch science do it’s magic. Most airports have a designated area outside of the secure area where you can park and watch the airplanes take off and land. If you want, you can even see if there is a live streamer or radio you can tune into to listen to which planes are coming from where.
26. Go get ice cream.
This is a simple date idea, but a great one. Find a local ice cream shop and go get a sweet treat. The more local the shop, the better. Additionally, look for ice cream shops that might have a cute outdoor area around it where you can enjoy your ice cream together.
27. Recreate your first date.
While this date borders on being more romantic (which is not a bad thing), there is something so cute about the idea of recreating your first date together. The more you can nail the details, the better.
What Makes a Date Night ‘Cute’
Figuring out exactly what makes a date night cute isn’t an exact science, but is a highly subjective question. That said, there are some elements and characteristics that tend to shine through to help you spot and pick out these types of dates.
- They make people say “Aww, that’s so cute.” – This may sound silly, but sometimes the best way to identify a cute date is to look for one that you know will make people respond by calling it cute.
- They tend to be less expensive or free. – For some reason, the more expensive a date night gets, the less likely it is to be considered cute. Cute date ideas tend to be ones where creativity of the connection reigns supreme over how much it costs.
- They involve creative planning. – The more involved you are in the planning process, especially the details, the more likely it is to be cute. For example, making a reservation for a fancy dinner isn’t a creative process you’re involved with. However, when you set up all the supplies for a scrapbooking night, you were intimately involved in the details of setting that up — and it’s a super cute date.
