The best part is that getting up early isn’t just about getting work done or getting the grass cut before the showers roll in. The morning can be an incredible time in Orlando for a date! Morning dates in Orlando give you so many great perks, unique options, and you never have to worry about staying out too late!

So, today, we’re going to share our favorite morning date ideas in Orlando to help you have fun and connect before the sun even rises in the sunshine state (well, maybe not that early).

  • It gets hot and rainy in Florida, but usually just in the afternoons.

1. Get creative at the farmers market.

Orlando is absolutely filled to the brim with great farmers markets in just about every little neighborhood. Generally, these take place on Saturdays or Sundays, and provide a lot of really unique ideas for dates.

A few of our favorite morning date ideas at Orlando farmers markets include:

  • Get the supplies together to create a picnic, then have the picnic there!
  • Get the supplies together to make smoothies, then go make them!
  • Walk around to find the most unique thing at the farmers market.

2. Go for a walk and talk at Lake Eola.

Orlando dates don’t have to be complex to be awesome, and this goes for morning dates too. In fact, we’d argue that people looking to connect in the morning might be more into simplicity as a whole.

One of our favorite morning date ideas in Orlando is going for a walk at Lake Eola. It’s peaceful, the weather is usually nice, and there’s plenty to see and do in case you want to jazz it up a little.

Some ideas include:

  • Keep it simple and just go for a little walk together.
  • Grab a coffee at a local spot and walk.
  • Pack a little breakfast picnic and find a nice spot to relax.
  • Go for a walk later in the morning and then grab lunch somewhere close by.
  • Rent a swan boat before it gets too hot (they open at 10am and are close on Mondays)

3. Get your brunch on.

Okay, we said these ideas would be better than breakfast, and while some people would say brunch is the same thing as breakfast, we beg to differ. Brunch is a much more eventful happening, and often involves more excitement and energy than a conventional breakfast. For that reason, brunch makes our list of the best morning dates in Orlando.

What’s really nice about this is that you can choose between a lower or higher energy place, and you can also still go early or push it into the later half of the morning if you want to sleep in a little.

One thing to keep in mind is that brunch in Orlando is quite popular, so make sure you get a reservation if you’re setting up a date.

4. Rope drop Disney or Universal.

If you’re a fan of the theme parks, you know they make for a great date day or date night. But, some people tend to overlook the joy of getting there first thing in the morning! The weather is great, the crowds are light, and watching the sun and shade dance around the parks is pretty magical.

If you’re looking for a really neat morning date (and feel like playing tourist), consider rope dropping one of the parks. Do keep in mind that some things (like the food stands during Epcot festivals) aren’t open until midday.

5. Go to Disney Springs and walk around before it opens.

If you look on the Disney Springs website, you’ll see that most everything opens around 10 am. However, you can actually get access to the property early around 9 am (Starbucks is also usually open already). This means that you can have a nice walk and talk without the crowds and still enjoy the pretty sights that make up Disney Springs.

What’s neat as well is that if you do want to do some shopping, you’ll be there to “rope drop” the stores (okay, no one calls that rope dropping, but we’re starting it as a trend)!

6. Catch an early morning rocket launch.

So, this is technically not in Orlando, but you can absolutely view it from Orlando (or make the short drive out to Cape Canaveral). We’re talking about rocket launches! If you’ve never seen a morning launch, you are wildly in for a treat, and it’s something wonderful to share with someone as a date.

There’s a lot of science behind why the water vapor trails looks more awesome in the morning, but we’ll spare you the details (mainly because we aren’t smart enough to get it ourselves; we just see the results).

If it were us, we’d recommend driving out to the Cape and setting up somewhere on the beach to watch. If you want to keep your Orlando date, well, in Orlando…find a park where you have a lot of visibility off to the east.

7. Okay, breakfast is still awesome

Lastly, yes, we ragged on breakfast pretty hard as a morning date in Orlando, but in reality, the food is too good to pass up. If you are looking for a straightforward date idea in Orlando, check out some great breakfast spots.
