Who doesn’t love a holiday that is literally built around kissing? We haven’t found anyone yet! Whether you call it National Kissing Day or National Kiss Your Girlfriend Day (or boyfriend), you are probably wondering when it is, what it is, and how to celebrate.
Good news. We’re getting into all of that (and more) today.

National Kissing Day is on June 22nd.
National Kissing Day happens annually in the U.S. and around the world on June 22nd. Now, some websites will tell you that International Kissing Day is actually on July 6th. However, we can’t find any evidence to really back this up, especially because the holiday most likely already originated internationally (in the UK) and was designated as June 22nd.
So, kudos to those trying to make it a double holiday within a few weeks (and by all means, celebrate twice), but we’re going to stick with the June 22nd date.
For those curious what day of the week that works out to, here’s the next 10 years of National Kissing Day (or National Kiss Your Girlfriend Day).
- Monday, June 22, 2026
- Tuesday, June 22, 2027
- Thursday, June 22, 2028
- Friday, June 22, 2029
- Saturday, June 22, 2030
- Sunday, June 22, 2031
- Tuesday, June 22, 2032
- Wednesday, June 22, 2033

Celebrating National Kissing Day is what you make of it.
Now, when it comes to celebrating the holiday, there aren’t really any hard and fast rules or overarching traditions like you might see with a more mainstream holiday. But! That doesn’t mean we aren’t going to share some ways to celebrate with you.
Don’t Forget About It
The problem with more minor romantic holidays that aren’t as mainstream is that you don’t get the barrage of ads and TV commercials that remind you it’s coming (like with Christmas or Valentine’s Day). So, remembering the holiday is coming does take a little effort.
Or does it? If you get the free LoveTrack app for couples, it comes with reminders of all the best romantic holidays, so you never forgot. And it’s completely free and also gives you ways to celebrate. If you get it now, you don’t have to ever worry about forgetting.
Share a Special Kiss – And Talk About It
It probably goes without saying (but we’re going to say it anyways) that you should share a special kiss! Now, when we say talk about, we aren’t talking about an awkward conversation about the quality or characteristics of the kiss. What we are talking about is making sure your partner knows that the holiday is happening! You can easily say something like, “Guess what! Today is National Kissing Day! Time to celebrate.”
Get Some Treats!
Hershey’s Kisses feel like they were literally made for this holiday. While it’s not really a big gift-giving holiday, there is nothing wrong with getting some sweet treats, especially ones built around kisses, to celebrate.
You can get some Hershey’s Kisses and just give them to your significant other, or you can get creative.
- Leave them around the house to find like an Easter Egg hunt.
- Set up a scavenger hunt with them and little notes on each.
- Give them one every time you give them a kiss (just make sure they don’t melt in your pocket).
